Method of Laser Welding
Metal Welding
Applicable Model : Fiber Laser Welder and YAG Laser Welder
Metal Surface Melting
- Power density of the laser beam necessary for deep penetration (key hole) type metal melting is 105~106 W/cm2 or more
Key Hole Forming
- Melted metal is pushed out by the strong force of the metal vapor
- The key hole is maintained by the balance between the metal vapor pressure and the shrinkage pressure by the melting section surface tension
- While the key hole is being maintained, the laser beam being continuously irradiated is repeatedly absorbed and refl ected on the key hole wall, and intrudes deep inside the hole causing melting and vaporing
Solidification
- The balance between the vapor pressure and the surface tension is lost, and the melted section flows into the hole resulting in completion of the welding
