Nippon Avionics Announces Reorganization of Infrared Business among Group

Nippon Avionics Co., Ltd. announced to reorganize infrared business of their group to strengthen structure of the business, following the resolution at the Board of Directors meeting held today.
Purposes and Outline of Reorganization
Nippon Avionics has been developing infrared camera business as one of strategic core products among their commercial business. On June 30th, 2006, Nippon Avionics acquired entire corporate stock of NEC San-ei Instruments Ltd., which was previously owned by NEC Corporation, in order to enhance organization to expand business aggressively at the global level. Prior to the acquisition, NEC San-ei was developing infrared camera business as a subsidiary of NEC Corp., which was identical to Nippon Avionics.
Infrared camera market is expected to grow significantly due to rapidly growing application and solution of the cameras, propelled by advanced performance of infrared sensors in recent years.
The decision was made today to integrate business resources among the group for expanding business not only for their long experienced infrared cameras, but also for new product categories such as infrared sensors, infrared modules, and infrared solution in order to meet with wide variety of customer needs which are soaring at the world-wide market.
A new company “NEC Avio Infrared Technologies Co., Ltd.” (Subject to change) will be formed by changing corporate name of NEC San-ei, and concentrate on infrared business as their strategic core. Nippon Avionics will combine their infrared business with the new company to consolidate resource of two companies.
The new company intends to expand full line-up of infrared products from sensor, module, camera, and solution, and to play an important role of infrared business under the NEC Corp.

3. Reason for the change
Corporate name will be changed to represent more comprehensibly that the infrared technology is the strategic core of the company.
Head office will be moved to the address, where Nippon Avionics is located, to consolidate the business.
